Dates Set for Upcoming Synchronized Skating Try It and Try Outs for the 2010 - 2011 Season. 

Please join us Saturday April 24, 2010 at the Pettit National Ice Center for a Sychronized Skating Try It! Coaches and current team skaters will be on hand to introduce new skaters to the sport of Synchronized Skating! The event will run from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.

Try Outs for the 2010 - 2011 Season will be held Sunday May 2, 2010 at the Pettit National Ice Center from 1:00 - 4:45pm.

Synchronized skating is a growing discipline of figure skating. It is a highly technical form of figure skating characterized by speed, accuracy, intricate formations and breathtaking transitions. Synchronized skating is performed by teams of 8-20 athletes and incorporates aspects of singles, pairs and ice dancing into a team sport.

Synchronized skating is a popular discipline both within U.S. Figure Skating and around the world. U.S. Figure Skating held the first U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships in 1984 and also hosted the first World Synchronized Skating Championships in 2000. There are approximately 525 synchronized teams registered with U.S. Figure Skating, and nearly 5,000 athletes participate annually in the synchronized skating sectional championships.
